We all have those people whom we’ve loved that stick to us, for better or worse. “Everpresent” by Washington, DC native Traci L. Turner speaks to that experience.
This show will exhibit paintings and quotes that express the artist’s observations about the trials and triumphs in her romantic life. Utilizing a bold, impressionistic style, and a deeply personal approach to her subject matter, Traci continues to explore her fascination with color and the human condition.
Everpresent will also feature emotionally charged poetry by emerging writer and poet, Whiskey Girl, from Washington, DC.
Whiskey Girl has been featured in multiple popular spoken word events in the DC area and has become known for her uncompromising viewpoint in her work.
Through visuals and words, Everpresent will remind the viewer of times of loving someone deeply, blindly and completely.

We had a phenomenal time at the opening reception on June 9th with an evocative series of visual art by Traci L Turner, music by DJ Gimmicks, poetry by Whiskey Girl and the talented Spoken Views Youth Collective (SVYC), who were invited to Washington, D.C. this July to compete in the largest ongoing spoken word poetry event in the world: The Brave New Voices (BNV) Festival. This festival convenes youth poets from around the world for “5 days of workshops, slams, showcases, community service and civic participation events.” (youthspeaks.org)
